After 5 weeks in England, we headed to Spain with Grandma, Grandad, Zoe
and Mark. We flew to Almeria which is part of Andalucia, Spain – and between
us, we had hired three cars which we collected at the airport.
We drove for an hour to Huercal Overa which is the town near to their Spanish Farm houses. The houses are painted white (like many Spanish houses) and there are great views to be had all around. Grandma and Grandad, and Zoe and Mark have houses that are close by. On the first night - we stayed at Grandma and Grandad's house.

There were many wild cats that would look for food around the house. Grandma and Grandad named one cat 'Pearl' and we watched her give birth to 5 kittens in the bush outside the house. On the day we were leaving the house she carried each of her week old kittens in her mouth up to a barn that was close by.

On the second day, we moved up to Zoe and Mark's house called 'Ithaca' which is about 8km away from Grandma and Grandads. During our stay there, we made use of all the areas they have built; this included two large terraces called 'The Onion Lounge' and 'The Kippax', and an outdoor sunroom called 'Le Blou'.

Mark did a lot of cooking, helped by Amy! They made Chicken Pasta, Paella, Fish Stew, Tuna; poached eggs were a speciality for Dad's breakfast!

'The Kippax' was our favourite terrace! It was huge and provided room for dancing as the moon and shooting stars appeared.
One weekend Zoe, Mark, Dad and Mum went to a hotel for a night close by to Mojacar which is near to the beach - whilst we stayed at Grandma and Grandads.
A few days later, we all went to Mojacar and played on the beach and then had lunch in the old city overlooking the valley. Auntie Zoe can speak fluent Spanish which is handy when we ordered food and drinks.
We also had a day trip to San Juan beach where we had lunch at a Spanish restaurant.
We went to Murcia for a couple of days to visit Paul, Deborah, Olivia and Alex. Mum and Dad shared a house with Paul when they lived in London, although hadn't seen either of them since 2000! We had a day at their house, stayed over - and then went to La Manga to play on the beach and have lunch. La Manga is a 22km long and 100m wide strip that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor (Minor Sea) lagoon.
On our last night, we all went out for dinner at the tennis club.
