Our good friend David Wiles was competing in his 12th Ironman; my Dad has completed three Ironman before (Wanaka NZ, Busselton and Port Macquarie Australia), and so we have all been to watch the races before.
We were well prepared with a big Australia flag, and we had also drawn some posters to wave at our friends from Australia! AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!
Challenge Roth is famous because it was the first ever Challenge Ironman event, so there were lots of people, lots of signs and a very interesting course! These are some pictures of the course.....

After the Ironman, we spent a day with Wilesy and a few of the other Warringah triathletes that competed in Challenge Roth.

We helped drop off a couple of the triathletes at Munich Airport, before spending a couple of days with Wilesy. We headed to Oberoi, and saw the Alps and stayed a couple of nights. On one of the days, we all got a cable car up Mount Wank, and walked about 3 hours back down the mountain! When we got to the bottom, Dad's car wouldn't start and he had to ring for breakdown services to come and meet him at the bottom of the mountain to fix the car.
On our last day with Wilesy we went to see some castles in Southern Germany. Afterwards, we went to some thermal pools, and Dad ended up in a pool aerobics class.
Wald, Austria
After saying farewell to Wilesy, we headed to a place in Austria in the town of Wald. We stayed at great apartment for 4 days, and a little girl became friends with Anna.
Haus Krismer:
In Wald, we went for some walks and watched Bungy jumping, rode the longest toboggan run in the world, swam in nearby lakes and went along long high bridges!

Hochfilzen, Austria:
After Wald, we drove to Hochfilzen, where we stayed for 4 nights. We spent a lot of time with the hosts and their daughter, and watched a couple of the local village bands play. We also went to the top of a mountain by cable car and walked down, and spent an hour playing in an adventure playground.

Anna and Daddy Day:
Anna and Dad had a day by themselves. They went to find snow ! They drove along a road (Glockenstrasse and Stelvio Pass) that was featured in James Bond's Goldfinger and is in the next James Bond film.
